Sports and Jesus

What a great blog post I found. We have not thought in depth too much about this but had discussed it a few times... Sports and Church.  Such a sensitive topic because sports are important to some families. Also its tough because I grew up and played so many sports and just loved playing and competing.  This is great challenge to me to think through and how to balance it all.  Anyway if you have ever thought about sports and church or need to, you should read this.  Here is a few of us from our sports days. Enjoy!  Here is the link to the post... Church VS Sports

Even as I look at these pictures I have such fond memories of sports. Oh I love reliving the glory days. My sweet hubby didnt really play many sports so these were the best I could do of him in sports.

Ephesians 1:3

My heart is full. I have a sweet husband whom I adore, A fiesty lovable 2 year old, a sweet cuddly baby boy, a mom who cares about stupid deals of my day, friends that really love me, and a lovely mentor who I am so grateful for. I mention just these things because at this moment those are who come to mind.   I am bless. Even when things in my world seem to be running a little "bumpy" God reminds me of a few of the blessings he has given to me. Well thats it. Simply, I AM BLESSED. Here are a few pics of just some of the people that God has blessed me with.

Ephesians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Thank you Lukey for keeping me young!
Thank you mom for caring about all the crazy details.
I seriously love them!
Calvin you are such a joy!  I think youre gonna be a mamma's boy.

My doula on the left and my sweet doctor on the right. I seriously had the best birth team ever.  Yep my doctor came to my home.  (My doula and her are bff and my doula use to live in my house years ago.  My doctor spent lots of time there too so she wanted to see what we did to change it.)

Jack is here!

Well my sweet friend here in Columbus had her baby last week.  He is so sweet. I cant even remember Calvin or Lucas being that small.... in fact they were never that small.  Jill looked beautiful and seriously recovers so quickly after labor.  She was sitting in ways I could never imagine doing any sooner than 2weeks after labor. She is a rockstar.  Anyway... here are a few from our visit to the hospital.  Love you Floren family.

Jack you're one lucky little boy!

Pintrest's DIY Christmas

Crazy, busy, rushing Christmas season.  I hate that it feels that way at times.  I love Christmas. I love seeing our families gather.  I love giving gifts.  Its about to start getting really fun at our house for Christmas because Lucas is getting a little older.  But when I step back, I need to remember that it is seriously all about JESUS.

Not only do I need to remember but I need to show that it is all about Jesus. I have little eyes watching and learning every minute of every day.  I really want to take advantage of such a sweet opportunity to teach them about real Christmas.  I dont want to even hint that Christmas is about anything else. I loved Christmas as a young girl and a young woman, but now I see what real Christmas is.  I feel like we missed the mark this year.  I dont have all the perfect Pintrest DIY Christmas advent calendar or special thankful tree this year.  I do, however, have God's word, which is so much better than all of those cute things combined.  So from this day on I'm going to try to remove crazy, busy, and rush as the theme of Christmas and trade it for moments of Grace, talks about baby Jesus, Christmas hymns and filling my home with Gods word...

He reminds me daily to stop and enjoy what matters...  Jesus and the little souls He gave me to shepherd.

Here is a link to a good clip about Santa and Jesus. It was a great challenge.

My real home

So my mom told me this would happen. I've been waiting to for it to happen.  I wondered if it ever would. And a little over a year later it has happened. My house finally feels like MY home. It's definitely not perfect. Some rooms are almost 7degrees colder or warmer than the rest of the house, I cant do dishes while Lucas' is napping because the kitchen right next to his room, and there is a leak. But its my home.  I praise God for this place. He is to receive all the glory and praise for bringing us to this place. Thank you Lord.

Here is my REAL home. Dishes in the sink, laundry, and toys all over.  I love it.

Have a great day!
